This scene is of the surf in the Virgin Islands.

While John has never been to the Virgin Islands, the pictures he saw really captured his attention. John combined several different perspectives to come up with the finished result you see here.

About John Wiegand

John Wiegand

My name is John Wiegand and I am a Fine Artist who specializes in meticulous colored pencil drawings. I got my start in high school with my first colored pencil drawing named, The Bunk, which was entered in the Kiski Valley Artists Guild in 1982 and won a 2nd place ribbon from that show. Since then, I have honed my craft and my work is very unique and full of vibrant colors. My drawings take up to 200 hours to complete. I use Prismacolor Colored Pencils to draw with because the lead is soft and the colors are intense. The colors are so striking that people often think I used pastels in my work. All of the drawings submitted here are finished works. One of my favorites involves the Zebra, Rhino, Giraffe and Hippos. Together, when...
