This is a scene of Harbor Town in Hilton Head, SC. Harbor town is a happy place filled with good cheer and lots of fun activities. John has fond memories of vacationing there in his youth. Picture yourself as one of the happy vacationers. Perhaps you are walking along the harbor, eating lunch at the restaurant, walking up the flights of stairs to the top of the lighthouse, getting ice cream at the snack stand, hanging out on a yacht or driving one of the boats into the harbor.
The original size is 25" X 19" and took roughly a year and a half to complete.
My name is John Wiegand and I am a Fine Artist who specializes in meticulous colored pencil drawings. I got my start in high school with my first colored pencil drawing named, The Bunk, which was entered in the Kiski Valley Artists Guild in 1982 and won a 2nd place ribbon from that show. Since then, I have honed my craft and my work is very unique and full of vibrant colors. My drawings take up to 200 hours to complete. I use Prismacolor Colored Pencils to draw with because the lead is soft and the colors are intense. The colors are so striking that people often think I used pastels in my work.
